Combining drawing and painting with texturing and patterning, using hammers, stamps and abrasives; these artisan earrings move gently, revealing different aspects of color and metal as they move. Made from steel, glass, sterling, 18K, 22K and 24K golds.
This jewelry collection is made using the technique of enameling, which is the process of applying small granules of glass to a substrate like metal and firing in a kiln at high temperatures, usually between 1,400 and 1,550 °F.’Vitreous enamel’ is a material created by fusing powdered glass to a substrate by firing. The glass melts and when cooled, hardens to a smooth and durable vitreous coating, in this case on steel, copper or fine silver. Depending on the design, the enamel has been etched to a soft matte finish.
To clean your enamel jewelry, you can use a cloth or soft toothbrush with soapy water. Dry the pieces thoroughly with a soft dry cloth.
Remember that your jewelry is made of glass and metal and it may chip or scratch if treated carelessly. Store it in its own box or compartment as not to hit against other pieces of jewelry.
