Handcrafted original Pig jewelry. In our family the Pig is symbolic of Yule, formerly known as the northern European winter solstice festival, but celebrated now as Christmas. The tradition goes back to a time when the pig was a sacred animal often sacrificed to the gods. As both producer and devourer, the pig represents the primitive view of divinity as an earth goddess beyond good and evil. In Chinese mythology, the pig represents abundance, but it also stands for our fundamentally animal nature.
