Being under the stars is a magical experience… and inspired this Astra Series necklace that combine drawing and painting with texturing and patterning to show off the unique luminosity of glass. Created with hand drawn designs and multilayered enamel finishes using the centuries old technique of enameling on metal, this enamel pendant is coated with many thin layers of glass and pigment and fused in a kiln at 1500 degrees. The intended result is richly surfaced, artistically expressive and technically innovative contemporary art and jewelry.
