So this is what I am working on this summer for the enamel collection ~ painterly, colorful jewelry in glass enamel. I have designed a new sterling silver (or gold filled) ear wire and lots of new shapes. More to come!
I hope you will come visit me at FPAC’s Spring Open Studios, Factory 63 at 63 Melcher St.
Friday June 17 Preview open 4–7pm and Saturday and Sunday June 18–19 open 12–6pm
Twice a year, FPAC artists open their studio doors to share the arts, industry and culture of this unique community, with the public.
Checking out ‘WONDER’ at The Renwick Gallery, which is home to the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s collection of contemporary craft in Washington DC. (with my two trusty sidekicks!)
Just returned from a textile tour in Chiapas, Mexico with Josh and guided by Tia Stephanie Tours. We had an great time and were blown away by the skill and craftsmanship of the indigenous weavers, their generosity, and the beauty of their work. http://tiastephanietours.com
2016 on the Chinese calendar is a year of the Monkey, starting from February 8 and ending on January 27, 2017. My son Ari is a Monkey (always ready to help others; compassionate, with strong self-esteem, but stubborn) and he helped me put together these earring combinations to celebrate! Hóunián dàjí (Lots of luck for this Monkey year).
I am really excited about the designs, inpired by Aboriginal art, that embellish the new cuff bracelets, earrings and necklaces in this collections I call ‘dreamings’. Textured created with dots and lines, simple and elegant!
